Poppy oil


The poppy oil varies from light yellow to dark yellow, has a pleasant smell and a nutty flavor. It is rich in glycerides and in alpha and beta linoleic acids, linolenic, oleic, palmitic and stearic acids; and that is why it is classified among the edible oils to reduce cholesterol.

Poppy oil is used as an edible oil. In pharmaceutical products, it is used in the production of ointments and emulsions due to its easy penetration into the skin and its mild odor. It is also used to produce light colors for artistic paintings since oil colors, based on poppy oils, almost never turn yellow.
